Here's the scenario: Bass are holding on or near the bottom in 15' to 25' of water. You've thrown a crank bait, swimbait, jig, and worm at them with little success. What do you try next?

i love finding the fish you are talking about, most of the time these fish are pretty much left alone, most folks arent even aware that they are there. when i find the fish i vertical jig a kastmaster or a smoke tube. but there is a little more to it than just finding them and jigging. i may look at the fish using the graph several times over the course of the day and until i see what im looking for i pretty much leave them alone. im looking for bait to be close to the school, if theres bait close by they can be caught vertical jigging, if no bait is present then it gets a lot tougher to get them started.
the downside to jigging over a compact school is spooking the school by releasing fish, obviously you have to release short fish, but even if you dont intend to keep the fish you should put the legal fish in a pre-prepared livewell until you are done fishing the school, and then return them to the water before you move on.
i sent mhall a pic of a stump bed on an offshore hump the other day, we discussed that it should be any day now. im glad to hear you are seeing those fish in that pattern, wont be long now and we will be seeing the same thing on LC

I love a jigging spoon, if that does not produce, I would try going back to the worm and try dead sticking, if you can stand it, let it sit, I have had bites after 3-5 min , or dead stick a drop shot, works for me.

I had considered the spoon and dropshot, but haven't tried them yet. Deadsticking kills me, but if that's what it takes, I guess I'll just cast and eat a can of Viennas!

You didn't say if the worm wad on a Texas rig or not, but I'm assuming so. If that's the case, I would throw a c-rig instead...sometimes that makes all the difference. Worked great at Nolin this past weekend under same circumstances.
