Not sure what your putting it on but on my float tube I use an old Hummingbird fish finder and connected it to a 12 battery I got from Cabelas. The battery is very small about 2lbs sealed battery worked great hung the transducer over the side and had the ability to move the transducer by hand . Made my own side scan unit
My battery is over 10 years old and still going strong
