I usually stay away when the water is high as it is now. maybe I need to rethink it.

LOL Dang it Tyme I lost my camera and a set of digital scales do to the fact I left them in my fishing bucket overnight and it happened to rain. Now I have to figure out how to use my phone....GGrrrr or should I say GGrreeen LOL

I love high water, better on the rise than on the fall for sure. Since I'm having some problems with my boat...(Whole nother story) I have been waiting for high water. I lost a very nice fish right when I got there do to my rusty set. I'm sure that fish would have gone 50plus. The river is never unfishable if you no where to go...I love creek channels that are shallow at normal pool and then become filled with life when the river is up. Alot of times I carry an old spool of line and a treble hook to throw over the debrie and pull it aside to create a fishing hole. You would be supprised at what comes up in them. Good luck Chuck

Any tips of fishing the falls when water is this high? I just never know where to fish when it's way up. I'm never confident in my choice of locations it seems like when the water is way up

I've been catching most of my fish parking at the Clarksville boat ramp then walking the bank towards the falls down about 200 yards. It seems there is more structure down there . But now I can't get to it so I'm trying figure out where else to fish with the high water

You really can't give good locations do to the water levels changing all the time. The best thing to do is start a log of when where and hows and keep learning about the area. I've been fishing it for years and still learn about every time I'm there. The ramps are a good place to start, the area you are talking about down from the Clarksville ramp can be good but lot's of snags. If you go on down to the area known as packers perch you can find some good areas...just watch your back side LOL. Watch for eddy water, foam lines and water breaks. When the water get's up into the circle at the Clarksville you can get all the bait you need ie; buffalo,shad and such. Silver creek is another place you can hit, and the little creek down from the Shermanminton bridge on the Ind. side we call pee creek....lots a bait fish to.Sorry I can't help you more, nothing beats time on the water.
