Anybody been out after the stripes recently? Thinking of making a trip soon as work is driving me insane and I need a break but don't really want to be fighting debris the whole time.

you will definitely be dealing with a lot of debris, its not as bad as it was in the spring but its close. Bait is all but impossible right now, you will throw the net 20+ times just to get 40 pieces of bait ( if youre lucky). Throwing a 20 foot net that weighs 30 pounds and pulling it up from 50 feet deep is ok the first couple times, when its cool at night. But 20 times in this heat and humidity (even at night) is killer.
but if you find the fish its over pretty quick, and the fish are pretty easy to find right now, they are where they always are in july.
good luck
Fished the Burnside Island tournament saturday night & running back from midlake late at night you had better be on your toes. Have to idle to get through it & really pick your spot. Needless to say you'd better have a good light & go very slow or you won't have a lower unit or worse. Some very big & long trees floating everywhere & acres of them in about every spot that the drift usually collects & plenty singles all over. Also saw the dock just below waitsboro on the left had broken loose & was floating down the lake at a pretty good clip.
