Florida Insider Fishing Report just mentioned white spinnerbaits, watermelon red, and junebug trick worms. Peg a 1/16 oz weight about 12" up from hook. Look for schoolers early then fish weed lines. You'll get bit. Avg size 1-3 lbs. I fish the Harris Chain & it's tough right now. Catching on 5/8 oz black & chrome 1 Knocker & Citrus Shad...... Also Spro Aruku Shad size 75 Gold Black....Hollow Body toad for BIG FISH.
Start early because the storms will have you quitting sometimes as early as noon. Crazy lightning here.
Hey there, thanks for the info! I was looking for some more educated guides on fishing on lake Okeechobee and I found this topic. I don't live in Florida right now but I've purchased a condo at the Sabbia Beach Condos in Pompano Beach. It's definitely a very classy place with an incredible location but I'd also like to travel around in Florida hence there are many places worth exploring and many amazing fishing spots. I'd only like to ask you whether this forum organizes any trips to lake Okeechobee or anywhere in Southeast Florida really, I'd love to join at least a couple.
