I've read in the past that photovoltatic cells can be used to capture the sunlight and turn that energy into electricity on site almost anywhere. People can do this at home. They can then make water into Hydrogen and Oxygen to pump into their vehicles or homes. They can then use the Fuel Cells in the Vehicles or homes to make electricity. All this energy is clean.I hope it is possible, affordable and economical in my lifetime.

They are doing this now in California and it could easily be spread across the rest of the world someday.
Great stuff if used properly. Worked around it and with it for almost 30 years.
