I have trolled them on the bottom very slowly with the trolling motor. Maybe on a flat.
Guess you could do the same by cranking it real slow on the bottom. I would prefer trolling though. Seems easier
Want to troll them by the slightest drop off in bottom contour. Six inches is enough Maybe at 25-20' right now.
The bass pro shops outside to Toledo has a decent supply of them so I'm sure it would be an easy order item.
When actually fishing on Erie for suspended walleye, we would tip with a nightcrawler or leech, cast them out, count down to the depth the fish were at and reel back in slowly jigging them.
I have no idea how to use them in Kentucky.
YES...BOTH, AND WHAT Peter said. Very versatile. Can also hang them under planer boards. But use yellow birds not the offshores as the yellow birds are more sensitive to hits.
And do try tipping with a small shiner, or chub, and if bottom is 20 foot, hang under a board at 15-18 foot. When I do that at Cumberland, not only do I get on some Walleye, but also the occasional small mouth, or flathead.
