What is done is done, but if it was me I would call personal service and raise all kinds of he-- tell them you,ll never order from them again and you,ll tell your friends and get on the internet and tell the world they lied that free shipping doesn't mean to your door. Can't hurt and you never know they hate bad press.

I'm not saying I agree with them but have you had any trouble with deliveries like this in the past? From anyone?

I guarantee you the "free shipping" details on their site talks about what happens if they cannot deliver, like a dead end street, etc, etc.

But I kind of agree with you. Free shipping means free shipping, and if I went through the process of selecting a particular vendor based on that service, I'd raise HELL until it was resolved......

    Later,

in the end it's all good, but the way they ripped me off, did get under my skin, I took off work early to keep from paying a restocking fee, when I loaded my order in my pickup, they had already placed a yellow sticker on it, that read return / refused freight, and the freight was never brought to my house. just beware of R+L Carriers.

I would be more angry at Home Depot than the freight company. If it were me I would have called and dealt with Home Depot because you are their customer and that is who you purchased from and who promised you the free deliver. The freight company is just a third party they contracted with and you really don't know what the agreement is between them and Home Depot. If it were me next time don't waste your time and energy arguing with a 3rd party and instead talk to who you bought from. They have the incentive to keep you satisfied and may have simply absorbed the charge themselves after hearing your side.

I didn't buy from Home depot, they had the item I needed 40.00 cheaper than what I bought it for on line, but the on line company had free shipping and home depot was a 3 hour round trip for me plus gas, so the on line deal was the best, I bought it from Bathware house.

Sorry I misread it. Everything I said remains but just substitute Bath Warehouse for Home Depot. In fact you may still want to give them a call and let them know about how their contracted freight company inconvenienced you; they just might offer you a little something for good will compensation.

I new you has misread it, I just posted it so someone else buying online could ask if the free shipping would bring the ordered item to their door without an added cost, and I already sent bathware house an email about the mess their free shipping cost me.

the delivery driver must not have tried to get to my address, a full size school buss passes in front of my house every school day, I bought a 64'' zero turn mower in 2012 it was delivered by tractor trailer, dropped off in my driveway, anyway I bought it with free shipping to my street address, the freight company that got payed to deliver the product, should have googled my address, and they would have known where to ship the order on a big truck, or small one. I wonder over the years passed, how many hundreds of thousands of dollars have they made from people, by saying they can't deliver their order without changing trucks and charging them for it, when they shouldn't have to pay anything, if they bought something with free shipping, it was the freight company's responsibility to deliver by what ever means necessary. just another way of ripping folks off.
