if a company has a product for sale, and says the shipping is free. are you like me, take that to be true, Home depot had an item I needed and it was 40.00 cheaper than on line, but it would take me 3 hours to drive to home depot and back plus gas, so the 40.00 extra with free shipping looked like the best deal, I ordered it, gave them my street address, and payed with paypal, got a call from the freight company said their truck driver couldn't get to my house that his truck was to long, wanted to charge me if they had to use a smaller truck, I told them no way, it wasn't my responsibility, it said free shipping, to my home address. then they called back asking if I could meet the freight truck, I said it would have to be some time Saturday, they said we don't work Saturdays, I told them that's why I ordered it online was the time it would save me with the free shipping, then they called again and said they would have to charge me a restocking fee for refusing the freight, I didn't refuse the freight, they never delivered it to my address, I had to leave work early meet the freight truck to keep from paying a restocking fee, am I looking at this wrong, I see it as a ripoff of the shipping company, they get payed for shipping the company's product, and if they can't collect an extra fee from the customer for suing a smaller truck, they just return it and tag it as refusing the freight. the freight company was R+L Carriers, I don't see them shipping anything else for me, if I buy online with free shipping, I'll ask what freight company do they use.
