Kid takes Brief case with circuit board/wires to school

I saw pictures of this so called Clock and it looked more like a suit case bomb minus the explosives.

What the heck do the terrorist do with clock timers? They use them to make terrorist bombs that are timed to explode at a certain time.

At one time I was a fire inspector and it was my job to investigate a fires origin and cause. I was trained by some very experienced fire investigators to do this job. We were trained to go in after a fire or explosion and collect evidence. One training session was to located the parts of the bomb after the trainers blew up and old automobile that was staged at an abandoned area of an old strip mine. The owner of the mine and the chief of police few to the scene in a helicopter and everyone else has to ride the school bus to the training site. I tell this story to give some back ground about myself.

When I saw the first pictures of the suit case "Clock" I said to myself. That does NOT look like a Clock to me. I think of a clock as one of those alarm clocks that I use to have. The kind that you wind up before going to bed. They were round and had mechanical springs and gears inside them. Today's clocks are digital. But I grew up in the 1950/60/70/80/90 etc. Back in those days they didn't have transistors. We had vacuum tubes that acted like Transistors.

So what was that kid really up to and what was he trying to prove? I would have been worried if I saw him bring something like that into my school or place of business. Why didn't he tell his teacher what he was doing? I know that kids do stupid things some times but in these times it's best to be prudent and not over look any thing that could potentially be used to make a timed bomb.

Well, here's my opinion on it, right or wrong, whether it offends someone or not.

I don't buy the whole "clock" b.s. The teacher and school who treated it like a suspicious and possibly dangerous item should be applauded and thanked for looking out for the safety of everyone in the school, not put down and called racist or closed-minded. They would have done the same thing if overall wearing Johnny Smith had brought it to class.

If little Johnny would have brought it to class, the nation would be in an uproar that he wasn't punished enough.

If Ahmed would have brought a real bomb and it blew up, the nation would be in an uproar saying that school officials should have seen it and done something about it. Instead, everyone is inviting him to be their new best friend. The founder of Facebook, universities, our president....makes me sick and mad!

Our nation as a whole is more afraid that someone will think we're "mean" than we are of them killing us. It needs to stop before it's too late.

    His dad is a radical.

This was a TEST RUN......and scary at that, considering nothing was done.

No Police, no bomb squad, no fire dept.......If it was a "bomb" they would have been called.

No, it was a TEST RUN to see just what can get into a school........Be scared....be very scared.

    Later,

My brother-in-law went to that high school and so did my nephews. By the time my youngest nephew came through there in the 2000's, the gangs were so bad that he dropped out of that school and went to a private school. Now that doesn't have anything to do with what this young fellow did,but it should give you an idea of what direction it went in. Caucasians are the minority in that school now. The Muslim population has really taken off in Irving. I don't think this was an accident. Look at all the publicity it has gotten and look who invited him to the white house. BO said he could tell what it was. Really? I dare anyone to look at that thing without being told what it was and figure out that it is a clock.

    Anatomy of a Hoax

    http://www.dangerandplay.com/2015/09...tandwithahmed/

I don't know anything about this website but a bomb hoax seems probable. Stumbled on it by googling the topic. A bomb hoax is at least wrong and likely illegal.

All the well known institutions that offered the kid things got their share of publicity too. I would say the website in the above link is guilty of seeking publicity too because it appears they are selling a book..on a quick look at the site.

Guess we'll never know what the intentions of the family were as only the kid and his family will know that.

    skul daze

My son teaches 8th grade math at a very large public school in a very very large southern city. The county board of education, has turned the school over to the students! he heard a cell phone go off and asked the kid what was he doing[the principal allows cell phones]. the kid says" its a call to prayers". My son told him to turn it down or off, and this kid tells him he couldn't pray because he left his pray rug at home. My son said "good, leave it home tommorow also".This got back to the vice principal, and he called myson in and told him he couldn't stop this kid kid from praying. My son told the principal the kid could pray his azzoff as long as he was silent and didn't disrupt the class, if he did he was out period. the VP told him he could be fired for that, my son told him to do it,and his lawyer and him would be on the national news the next day.But anyway nothing came of it, the kid didn't have 'prayercall" on his cell anymore. At the parent teacher conference, the father said he was right, and the kid just wanted to show is a--.
