The crappie are always easy to get to bite in the tribuataries of the Ohio, at least in my experience. Water temperature has little to do with it IMO. I can't remember how many good crappie I have caught in bass tournies up there, even in the extreme heat of the summer. Minnow and float, doesn't get much easier than that
Besure to take some pictures for those of us that are stuck at home.
The trip is now a question mark. Waiting to see if one of our kennel assistants will be able to watch the business Sunday afternoon. If we go I'll be sure to post pics, even if we get skunked. And we usually do!

Is there a public ramp or parking lot on Oil Creek that I could use? I have a kayak so I don't really need a ramp, but would like something near the creek so I could get in and out easily.
There is also the Mano Point ramp, just east of Derby on Hwy 66. It is about 100 yards upstream of the mouth of Oil Creek.

Town of Derby has a ramp about a half downriver. There's also a state ramp(Mano point) about a mile east of Derby. Either one should suffice.
Thx Toomanycasts!
