    Tom Jurich

If I'm Jurich I give Pitino two choices.
    1. Step down on your terms and apologize for ruining the schools basketball reputation.
    2. Or I fire your sorry a ss.

This is a disgrace and as a fan I am disgusted. I never wanted him here anyway and now I want him gone more than ever. Leave Pitino just leave, in fact go back to that cesspool they call New York and get the H ell out of our state all together. I defended him at first thinking no way he knew of this, just no way. But in Minardi Hall are you flippin kidding me. If he didn't know then WHY, its totally unacceptable in every way!

And no Splitshot I will never pull for your Cats..............fogettaboutit....

I think it's pretty obvious that Pitino is done. The only shocking thing is that it's even taken this long. I don't know how you can continue with the program with him running it at this point. If he knew, it's awful and if he didn't know it's a complete lack of control. I find it impossible to believe he had no clue whatsoever.

It has to be disastrous for recruiting and if the house isn't cleaned, it's going to be brutal on road games.

I'm not gloating. I don't like UofL and I don't like Pitino, but it's better for both schools' teams and fans for them to be strong. I also would never be happy about a situation where underage or even barely-overage girls are being exploited in this manner. The whole thing is very unfortunate.

I personally am just sick over the whole thing. I think if any of us knew the stuff that went on at ''MANY, perhaps even all major college athletic programs it would curl our hair.

They will clean house and the program will return eventually. Matt ''douchebag'' Jones says this is the end of Louisville basketball forever and of course many of his ''followers'' believe every word that spews from his mouth. That is crazy talk and the entire sports program should not be linked and drummed down by this.
The lady Cards are an elite team and deserve to not be trashed for this. Lumping all for a few is not fair but the haters are going to do what they do, so be it...

I see no way pitino survives now. University president ramsey has shown no support for him. Its time to move on with a new coach that can rebuild a bit. Its a ugly stain on the program but the cards will be fine in a few years if they even slip at all. Just depends who they bring in to lead the helm. Real question is who would be a good fit as the cards coach. With sanctions on the way im curious what coach is willing to step in and clean things up.

I honestly don't know who would be a good fit for a new coach. You could say Brad Stevens, but I think he's got something going with the Celtics and that might be his career.

Maybe the Wichita St. guy would come to Louisville or Archie Miller at Dayton. Maybe Steve Alford, but he isn't tearing it up at UCLA. Virginia's coach is a good one, but I think he's waiting on the Wisconsin job and I don't think he has interest in Louisville.

Wouldn't it be funny if it was Tubby Smith?

Shaka Smart is the name being thrown around a lot and I think he would take it. Make no mistake this is a huge deal but by no means does it destroy Louisville's brand forever. This is a storied program and one many would love to bring back to promise. Its also one of the highest paid jobs in the country, Louisville has serious smack to sling at coaches as all sports are money makers now under Jurich's tenure.

And no Michael it won't be Tubby, LOL....

So people think Shaka will leave Texas before coaching a game there? I just can't see that.

I know some of you all might fall out of your chair to hear ME say this...but it's better when Louisville is strong. It's great for the UK-UL rivalry, great for the state. The Pitino-Cal thing has been fun and I thought we had a few more years of it, but I think Rick's goose is pretty cooked on this deal.

I haven't said much, because we really don't know the truth, but an awful lot of folks are jumping up to validate Miss Hoe-Bag's story. If it's half true, it's a bad situation, and one that I find kind of hard to believe that the whole basketball staff didn't know was going on. It's one thing in Football, when a big program might have 200 people between players and staff to look after....but in Basketball, you've got what? 13 players and a few staffers? They knew. It was in the basketball dorm, for God's sake. If they didn't know, they should have.

Rick should retire for the sake of what's best for the program, but I think trying to save much dignity for him is a moot point....I mean, the guy has practically oozed with a sexual deviancy rep since the Sypher deal, now throw this on top of it. I respect what he did at Kentucky to bring us back to life...I respect what he did with Louisville, though maybe a little less given what it sounds like may have been going on out of the spotlight with recruiting...and I've always respected his coaching ability. This thing tarnishes a school's reputation though....and unfortunately, it weighs on the school's other programs too. Whether it's a FedEx envelope full of money (Sutton/UK) or strippers/sex (Pitino/UL)...it hurts the brand and takes time for the public to forget it. Louisville fans have every right to be pissed. Maybe not with something so saucy and media headline grabbing as this deal, but UK fans have been there too.

***** for Louisville...***** for college basketball period. It's one thing to take some kind of guilty pleasure in the deal as a rival fan, but I really don't want to see it for anybody. It's sad that college sports has become something where things like this even happen.

Pitino needs to go regardless if he knew or not. As head of the program you are accountable. As for louisville being done, they were successful way before pitino and Denny crum for that matter. They'll be fine. Not a fan just calling a spade a spade.

Pitino will coach this year it would be next year. Believe it or not man Louisville is a good coaching job I know you can't stomach that but it blows Texas out of the water. They haven't been relevant since the Carter administration....

No argument on the Louisville coaching job. I can't imagine a scenario where Pitino coaches this year so I just thought it would be surprising that Shaka would leave Texas right before the start of the season having not coached a game there.

If Pitino does make it through this year - which I think might be less than 5% chance - then perhaps Shaka would leave Texas after only 1 season. They just signed that huge deal with Nike, though, so there's probably plenty of money to keep him there.

Blows texas out of the water? Not quite. With the all the money texas has and awesome recruiting territory it wouldnt take much to turn that program into a top 10 team every year. Not sure why smart would leave a team with no future ncaa issues for a team that more than likely has some sanctions on the way. Id look more towards the direction of a mid major coach looking for a power conference job. Lets be honest here that uofl job isnt looking like a dream job right now
