The guy beside me caught 3 little Sauger, yesterday. I caught about 15 nice skippys, three small stripers, and one large Drum. The drum was the most fun.

I've heard that both the sauger and stiped fish are around and biting. I will be on the water both of my upcoming days off. Monday and Tuesday. River levels look favorable for a couple of patterns that have worked for me in the past. I can't wait to get a line wet. It's been 7 days since I've been out. Having withdrawals. This work thing is interfering with my fishing career ! Lol. I'll post a report for each day.
It was a very tough day on the river. Water was dropping fast. I did manage to get 5 hybrids with the biggest being 6.2 lbs. Zero sauger. I fished all the normally good spots and there was either to much water or not enough. It goes like that sometimes. It was a beautiful day regardless.
I went yesterday no sauger. Caught one drum and that's all. Didn't see anyone else catch anything either.
They sure are dumping it right now.........I took a drive down there after lunch ( Friday Hooters.......) , and they had a few gates open. I was thinking of taking the canoe down there after work, but no way now.
Lots of water.
There were a few folks fishing from the bank, but I didn't go down to ask if anything was biting.

They were running 4 feet of dam at the upper gate yesterday. I was there for only an hour between 1:30pm 2:30pm. Caught two Sauger (My first ones ever) Everyone was catching them! Pretty cool. Plan on going back Wednesday. I like to always fish on bank around that first turn near the upper gate! If anyone was there, I was in the yellow hard hat with the trash bag on to fight the rain. Anybody going Wednesday?? Its an off-day for me due to holiday ...

I will be there Wednesday. Hopefully the water stays close to where it is now. I know where the striped fish are & how to get them. Found them a couple days ago and have a pattern on them. I hope to get some sauger in the boat, but if not I will be catching some hybrids. I will be in my jon boat tomorrow. Good luck and stay safe.
I fished the falls for 2 hours this afternoon from 2-4. I fished from the spillway down to the observatory with not even a bite. The conditions looked perfect but apparently I was wrong. Using white an chartreuse grubs. The water level was 14 ft.
Everyone be safe down there.

Hey guy's is the first gate at the lower dam still closed(i guess for repair) or do they have all 4 open. Chuck
Hey Chuck, all four gates are open again. They have had all four open for about a week now. I was able to get some nice sized sauger today along with quite a few small ones. I gave Jay some of the bigger ones today. He has a hand injury and is unable to fish.
