I have done well on crappie down river in some of the creeks, but not on the upper pool so much. If I figured crappie out on the river, I'd never go to Rough River again. I love catching those big black crappie. Nice to hear someone has got their number. Good luck and stay safe.
I start crappie fishing in Nov and continue through the winter. I bass fish the rest of the year. I tend to crappie fish where I've caught slabs while bass fishing and go from there. I'm still learning a lot too. I've learned enough to know that I'm not wasting anymore gas chasing crappies anywhere else for the most part. I do better here at home. And I don't get too much company on the river. I'd lime to catch some of those hybrids too, and I'm ready for some toothy fish
