Hey you only have to get 3 jobs at 8.00/hr and you're easily over $20 an hour. Or we could just raise the minimum wage to $20/hr and solve everything with one fell swoop. What could possibly go wrong?

The "number" may say 5%, but the eye test, you know the one where you actually see and engage in what's going on around you, tells me the number is higher than that. But that's just here in kentuckiana. I'm sure it's better in California or new jersey and this area is just an anomaly.

I'm not going to cry and wail that it's Obama's fault. Americans have got to get their priorities in order. Until we start taking some accountability for our decisions as a whole, the "d" or "r" next to the commander in chiefs name means nothing. The new standard is "we only have $500 in our savings account, but I can check on getting a job with my new smartphone between episodes of the kardasians. And I can drive to the interview in one of my nicer newer vehicles and listen to over 10,000 channels on the radio. If I get distracted I'll just use the navigation system to get to the place. If I don't get the job oh well I'll just get a new tattoo to take the load off my latest set-back."

I typed that and then realized I've become a curmudgeon at the tender age of 39. Oh well I'm good with that.

As harsh as kygorski's "people need to just die comment" may seem on the surface, there is some truth there. Too many people, not enough systems and resources to handle the weight. Get right with the Lord and raise your kids to be respectful productive citizens that know the difference between right and wrong is about the best advice I can offer up right now.
