And yet the feeling from graduates over the past 8 years is that they CANNOT find employment....NO matter what the numbers show, the fact of the matter is there are a **** ton of young folks that cannot find gainful employment.

Lets not forget, the Obamunists changed the rules for full time work.

    * NOT once in your lifetime of work were you considered full time at 32 hours....That is the new "fulltime" metric.
    * And NOT once in your lifetime did you actually think that working 4 hours a week would qualify you as employed.

Both of those numbers are used by the democrats to tout their employment record.

    PROVE me wrong........

    national health insurance

that less than 40 hr week, was a dodge to not pay for health insurance for employers. things like that happen when you have multiple payers for health care. I know several people who work several jobs, because they can't make it on part time work. An easy solution, draconian but simple,if you are uninsured, just lay down and die!

5% is the unemployment rate, look around as you travel signs everywhere, now hiring, may not be 6 figure money, but they are jobs, Obama changed a lot of rules, and they are working, he didn't change the way they figure the unemployment rate, it's figured now the same way it was back in 2008 when it was 10% The U-3 figure is the “official unemployment rate,” Steinberg said, and has been calculated the same way for decades.

Hey you only have to get 3 jobs at 8.00/hr and you're easily over $20 an hour. Or we could just raise the minimum wage to $20/hr and solve everything with one fell swoop. What could possibly go wrong?

The "number" may say 5%, but the eye test, you know the one where you actually see and engage in what's going on around you, tells me the number is higher than that. But that's just here in kentuckiana. I'm sure it's better in California or new jersey and this area is just an anomaly.

I'm not going to cry and wail that it's Obama's fault. Americans have got to get their priorities in order. Until we start taking some accountability for our decisions as a whole, the "d" or "r" next to the commander in chiefs name means nothing. The new standard is "we only have $500 in our savings account, but I can check on getting a job with my new smartphone between episodes of the kardasians. And I can drive to the interview in one of my nicer newer vehicles and listen to over 10,000 channels on the radio. If I get distracted I'll just use the navigation system to get to the place. If I don't get the job oh well I'll just get a new tattoo to take the load off my latest set-back."

I typed that and then realized I've become a curmudgeon at the tender age of 39. Oh well I'm good with that.

As harsh as kygorski's "people need to just die comment" may seem on the surface, there is some truth there. Too many people, not enough systems and resources to handle the weight. Get right with the Lord and raise your kids to be respectful productive citizens that know the difference between right and wrong is about the best advice I can offer up right now.
