Christmas gifts

I made it really simple on my wife, daughter and a couple of others this year when they started asking me what I wanted. My reply was all Bass Pro gift cards. This way I can get exactly what I want as I need to replace my deer hunting knife this year among some other things.

Its a longer drive for me but my money goes way farther at BPS than it does at Cabela's that place is just way to expensive. Take me a ride across the new bridge to Hooterville and do me some man shopping....

Gift cards are my favorite gift! I wonder if they sell gift cards for Amazon.com? It's nice not having to leave the house!

In general, I hate gift cards. However, I love Basspro gift cards.

Way back when I was working our company would give us a Christmas gift card good only at our own company. A manager showed me we could use the company gift card to buy Basspro gift cards!! What a work around!!

About 10 years ago we tried something a little different at Christmas. Ya see for years, we were all in the same "do loop". I'd go out and buy $30 bucks of stuff for my brother, 1/2 of which I got wrong and he had to drive to the stores to return. He in turn gave me a gift, same value, and again I returned 1 of 2 on the average.

So 10 years back, we stopped buying presents. Instead we get together Christmas eve, sit by tree or fire place, have a refreshing drink, and tell jokes, reminisce, and then take turns telling each other where we are going to shop and what we will buy if we find it during the "after Christmas massive price drop sales".

1. We all save time not doing Christmas shopping.
2. We all save money, by shopping after the price drop, and we get more of what we like.
3. We save time not having to return gifts.

Yea, we still give each other a "prank gift" . We limit it to $10, and see who can come up with the funniest thing.

It's just worked for us.

It is so hard to buy for so many of us, but personally, I hate giving and receiving gift cards.

When you give a gift, it should be thoughtful and meaningful.............otherwise, don't give it.
