I'm not overly optimistic about Kentucky this year either, but I've got to be honest that I'm glad the "40-0" crap was never in the conversation. I don't buy into the "good losses" thing much, but I didn't mind the UCLA loss.
They are young (as always) and quite honestly, I think they play like wussies with a "p" a lot of times. I've never been a Poythress fan, though he had a pretty good game last night.
I don't put too much into the EKU game, because Kentucky seems to have an uncanny knack for being sky high for the big games (They looked like the Harlem Globetrotters against Duke) but flat as a pancake against the home court cupcakes.
I think the team goes this year as Ulis takes them - They are completely different without him on the court. I really like the Murray kid too. They will take some losses this year in conference.
We'll see if their balls drop by March.
Next year, with a few back, plus the all-world recruiting class coming in...look out.
