Anyone ever use the fnf on ky lake? Where would you use it and what leader length? There is so much brush in that lake and it is so shallow I'm not real sure where to start but I want to try.

I know Woody tried it a few years ago. Said the water was too stained when he went........
BUT, I've often thought it would work just fine, especially if you could find some out of the wind, bluffy areas to pitch it.
Sugar Bay, Pisqua, the leadin's on Duncan and Higgins...those all look good for the fly.
I'd start with a 9-10ft leader, and maybe use a Duck feather/purple or red, for fly. That has just enough color , but still looks pretty natural.
Man, if you go, let me know how it worked.

I'm thinking about going Sunday. May fish the canal. Should be lots of current and the smallies have been biting pretty good this winter. I may just stick with a jig and crankbait but I'll try it some
you could try it at the asphalt plant on Barkley and there is a bluff bank on Ky lake where the old river comes right up on the east side I would try the south point and along this bluff
Caught plenty of fish on the fnf here some years ago when I went out in the winter. Right now the water probably a little more colored up than I would prefer for the fnf with all the water coming through and all the rain lately. If you do give it a try: Find the suspended shad on your electronics and use a leader to put the fly right under them. Most of the time I had best luck when the fly was at 8-10 ft just under suspended shad. You don't have the water clarity here you do on Cumberland or Dale so you need to be a little more accurate. Blue/Chartruese always worked good for me here. Rocky channel banks and points assoiciated with the river channel or deep creek channel. Some of the spots Geo mentioned is where I did pretty well. Good Luck!
P.S. I know a few folks that do fish the fnf here successfully.
Thanks guys. Hopefully I'll get out
