    Motor break in

Picking up my new boat Saturday. Got a 18 foot ranger with a 150 mercury. I need recommendations on which lake would be best to break the motor in. Can I do it on Cedar? Thanks

I took mine to herrington,I put in at Bryants and ran all the way to the dam and back. Cedar is not long enough for all the different RPMs you need to run to set the rings. And congrats on the new ranger, just can't go wrong with a ranger.

Thanks. With water being so low is Bryant ramp still usable? I may need to hit Cumberland.

    Cumberland

By far the best bet for breaking in a motor. I have always done it there.

Yes I would go to Cumberland. Or even Green.

At Herrington there are too many no wake zones. You'd constantly be slowing down to pass through them. But if you do decide to go there I believe the chimney rock ramp stays open even when the lakes pretty low.

    Talyorsville

Thats where me and my papaw broke his 115 in at. We ran up and down to and from the dam. Its probably thrown out of its banks by 20 foot though.
