Map and sonar chip

Picking up the boat tomorrow. What is the best map chip / manufacturer to go with. Will fish mostly KY and TN. Maybe a spot or two in Alabama.

Lowrance hd9

Navionics platinum east for ky and tn. Alabama is not part of it. Youd need a south chip for it. Will your lowrance units have insight mapping? If so it's good enough to get you by I guess but I wouldn't rely on it.

I run Navionics platinum in my hds 9. If you like detailed contour lines it's very good, but I have very little experience with other cards.

You can go to Navionics site and look at the maps for a week free. For Ky and Tennessee Navionics platinum is the best also go to YouTube to get a better understanding of the different map choices. I have a HDS gen3 and it's a great map for me. Look for choosing a Navionics card for freshwater on YouTube.
