In my case gambling is considered an entertainment expense. You ever wondered where all the tax money that is collected from the sale of fishing equipment, hunting supplies, licenses and other government imposed fees collected on our entertainment goes? It goes to the same politicians that get the taxes and fees from the casinos and even the horse racing tracks. Speaking of that, a good number of our representatives in Frankfort are puppets to the rich folks in the horse racing industry. That industry spends millions to keep their competition in the casino gambling industry out of Kentucky while at the same time donating millions to the political campaigns of the politicians that will further their cause so think twice before you go to the track and put $2 on the nose of a horse or even purchase that commemorative Ky derby glass. Just as people that live in dry counties will drive countless miles to buy alcohol in wet counties people that want to gamble legally will travel hundreds or even thousands of miles to legally gamble in other states. Btw, alcohol has caused far more damage than gambling ever has and probably brings in more money to the politicians and their friends so let's keep consistent in our desires to be rid of crooked politicians and bring back prohibition too.![]()
