I have been using a BPS CarbonLite 7'2" in medium with a fast action. Does pretty good.

I like my St Croix Mojo bait casting Crankbait rods as I'm just not a spinning reel guy for crankbaits.

But here is link to article with suggestion

I use a G. Loomis 7' 4" bronzeback. It works GREAT for crankbaits. I also use 6lb or 8lb floro which also works great.

What reel do you use on the G. Loomis?

    Gloomis Bronzeback

I also use the 7'4 Bronzeback rod and I've paired it with a Shimano 3000 Ci4. Killer combo. I use it for everything from throwing small cranks to shakey heads and its my favorite sauger rod throwing 1/4 ounce lead heads. By far one of my favorite spinning combos. The 3000 is the same size as the 2500, with more line capacity.
