    Smile Now I know

For a lot of years living an urban life, newspapers were a part of my daily life, sunday papers always had several sections including the comics, and sports that were looked forward to. I used to get the local glasgow paper, but delivery was sporatic. so I stopped it.NOW I NEED IT. tHE SNOW IS UP TO MY DOGS NOSE, and theres no place or paper for her to poop. When we moved down here, we had a larger animal that loved the snow, and was big enough to handle it.So now I know what I didn't stock up on, too late. Thinking of carpeting the spare room with copy paper, paper plates, and paper towels. We paper trained her, she would sit down and read the paper and go the floor. DOGS, MANS BEST FIENDS

    The Quiet

We have a foot of snow here, and under it is about an 1/8 inch of ice.But with the exception of a comfort zone for the dog, all is well.Everyone here is retired, and I guess alive[so far].The dog isn't that big a problem, except she's smart as a brick.I cant let her out because of an unusual problem. We have 2 maybe 3 downed buzzards in the yard, and she would quickly find them and keep annoying them , till they ate her! Cute she is, smart she isn't. I moved here from the snow belt, had a snow blower, and an electric shovel, almost everyone did, plus we had young men who would, for a sum, dig you out. [my son was one of them, who would dig out other older folks].Till 6 years ago had a 4/4 truck. Winter wasn't a big deal. I do have a snow shovel, and maybe tommorow I'll shovel off the ramp, and think about the car. But since I'm creeping up on 80 years old, just a little at a time. Many years ago Tim Conway would mimic an old man, and it would almost split my sides, never thought it could be me. My son just called from georgia, and when I mentioned that, we both laughed together. I'm living in Mr Codgers nieghborhood now, and I also have a cardigan sweater.Sorry [i'm not] for boring you guys, but the artritis makes twitaling the thumbs hard.

Not all that much snow here in Greenville,In. We got maybe 5 to 7 inches. We're stocked up on all necessaries and have no need to venture out. I'll let solar energy melt the snow.
