The state dock at Green River Lake has a few roofs down on boats and one of the floating cabins is half under water. Still a lot of snow on the roofs
Saw those reports, plus the boat slip dock behind Holmes Bend Marina office also damaged (sunk ??). Wouldn't surprise me if more boat dock/marina roofs have collapsed. Boats damaged from the dock roofs collapsing on them, plus some reports that some boats were sunk from the roof/snow weight have also been reported. Big mess, for sure.

OK ... just checked with my FB buds, and they're showing pics of collapsed roofs, sunk docks & boats, and damaged boats (from collapsed roofs) from :
Grider Hill
Burnside
Beaver Creek
Lee's Ford
Holmes Bend
Green River Marina
Stripernut had some problems at his house down in Jamestown.
The good news is his boat is OK and I don't think so much as a leaf touched any of his rods.
lol peter, if you look close in the front left of the picture you will notice a post in the ground with a boat winch attached with a steel cable over one of the limbs. many a deer have swung from that tree over the years....maybe thats what made the tree weak![]()
Very compelling video. Thanks for posting.
I can only echo your statement, "**** shame".
I personally appreciate the minimal use of narration. It made me feel like I was right there to witness this event.
P.S. Nice toast towards the end of Part 1
Same thing happened at Norse last year dam shame
Jeff I hope nothing is to bad at your house bro if you need something yell at me.
Guys this is horrible almost every Marina on Cumberland is reporting some sort of damage and Grider is every bit as bad as Jamestown. These Marina roofs are not designed to carry that kind of snow load. The trusses are but the structure, spacing of trusses, purlins and base are not. There is literally Millions of dollars of damage on the lake and surrounding areas.
Ive seen lots of pictures, lots of boats going down, why arent they trying to get some of the less dangerous ones out,its millons in boat value, think of the environmental-economic effect of this
thanks mark, minor damage to the house, some damage to the deck and hot tub, brushed the wifes vehicle but nothing serious. my issue will be a very big clean up jobJeff I hope nothing is to bad at your house bro if you need something yell at me.

i have friends and family in the area that havent fared as well unfortunately as their damage was worse than mine.
and i cant even imagine the difficulties these dock owners, boat owners, dock workers etc etc are facing. this has been a brutal storm
Just saw a picture posted online, showing some Dale Hollow marina guys on a double deck pontoon boat ... going around the dock and scraping the snow off the roofs !! Not sure which marina, but kudos to them for "thinking ahead" and nipping any possibility of roof collapse ... in the bud !!
