the longer a man lives, the more he will see { even more looking out both eyes } I've seen a lot in my days, but never thought I'd see the day, when 1% of the people in this country, would own more wealth than everyone else all combined. and use it to buy greedy politicians, so they can pass laws to keep more wealth flowing to the top, Sanders and Trump from what I can read and listen to on tv, are the only two, that the billionaires aren't paving the way for. I think Sanders has good intentions, and cares for the common man, but in his dreams, are the only place he will help anyone, most of those he will be working with, are puppets of the billionaires, Trump is paying his own way, with the help of lots of free media, but I can't see Trump hurting his bottom line, or any of his billionaire friends. when checking history, start here at home and see how it's going, when 400 of the richest people in this country, buy greedy politicians and put them forth as presidential candidates, and let 350 million select one of them as president. this is how things work in the USA, and some say it is the best system in the world, the way I see it, here in the realworld, life is rough and getting worse, with the help of greedy puppet politicians.

I don't care what folks at the top make.......

In this GREATEST country the world has ever known, every single person has the ability to become a billionaire.

CHOICES keep people from becoming all they can be. POOR CHOICES.

It is sad that the left wants to paint every poor person as an ignorant buffoon who has no chance at success. It is even sadder that folks accept that narrative from the LEFT.......

I guarantee you that if we cancelled every single welfare program out there, folks would GET off their lazy ass and figure it out. They'd figure it out or become more criminal than they are and get killed. Either way, I'm fine with it.

So should I start slacking, maybe calling in to work more? You know bringing us closer to being all the same? Sorry wasn't raised that way. I'm sorry waterdog we just have two different ways a thinking and that's what makes the world go round.

no, don't ever slack, work all you can, you could quit your job and it wouldn't do anything to bridge the gap. I've worked 50 and 60 hours per week all my life, what you and I do won't have any effect on the poor working class of folks, I'm sure there's folks that put in more hours per week than you and I for a lot less money. the guys that are at the top and have the control over the flow of the money, they keep the rules, laws and loopholes in place, to keep the flow of money in their favor. and that is what needs to change, or our great country will come apart. and I agree, we do think different, and thats good, the mingling of different viewpoints--beats consensus any day..

    Theres more than one welfare

40 hrs a week? I usually worked over 50 I had several part time jobs at once. I did that so my my wife could stay home, and raise our chilren properlyWe paid for their education, and they received good ones. And I had good paying jobs, some were quite unpleasnt, andothers were almost slave labor, All of us who worked in the "rust belt cities"were sold out by special interest groups who paid lobbyists more in a week than we made in a year.We never mention corporate welfare, its there and just as expensive as social welfare. The goverment didn't send our jobs over seas, they wre pushed to do so by special interest groups who paid money to ploiticains who didn't know what physical work was, and still don't today

if for some reason, you really believe that the top 1% pay " ALL " the taxes, read this and educate yourself on how the tax system works for the super rich, then take another look at the idiot politician, you were referring to, and ask yourself, could I have been wrong about him..

And yet you still don't GET it..........

Here are the ******** points from your left leaning post.......

The richest 1% of Americans own 35% of the nation’s wealth. The bottom 80% own just 11% of the nation’s wealth.

In the 1950s and 1960s, when the economy was booming, the wealthiest Americans paid a top income tax rate of 91%. Today, the top rate is 43.4%.

The richest 1% pay an effective federal income tax rate of 24.7% in 2014; someone making an average of $75,000 is paying a 19.7% rate.

The average federal income tax rate of the richest 400 Americans was just 20 percent in 2009.

Taxing investment income at a much lower rate than salaries and wages are taxed loses $1.3 trillion over 10 years.

1,470 households reported income of more than $1 million in 2009 but paid zero federal income taxes on it.

CEOs of major corporations earn nearly 300 times more than an average worker.
30 percent of income inequality is due to unfair taxes and budget cuts to services and benefits.

The largest contributor to increasing income inequality has been changes in income from capital gains and dividends.

Here is information JUST about the TAXES paid, and who pays them:

The top 1% pays a gigantic amount of the federal tax burden........and the top 5% pays more than all the other income brackets combined.

    Here are the details:

The top 1% pays 39% of all taxes
The top 5% pays 59% of all taxes
The top 10% pays 70% of all taxes
The top 25% pays 86% of all taxes
The top 50% pays 98% of all taxes.

    Keep trying though.........
