summer vacation to panhandle

Just made some plans to vacation west of panama city beach near lake powell florida a few blocks from beach. Planning on fishing from the beach but I also hope to take a kayak to fish bay/backwaters in the area.

I know plenty of you all on this site like to fish whereever you go. Just looking for any pointers if anyone has been near this area as far as surf fishing and also kayak options for this area during past vacations.

Fishing the beach I would definitely have a pompano rig, spoon or gotcha, simple piramid sinker and shrimp or pin fish rig. Can prolly pick up some specks and reds in the bay. If you get a lady fish save it for sharkbait ohhahaha....gotta love nemo. What month ya going. Chuck

I have fished the destin area that time of year. Get a few gotcha.s - lots of Lady Fish and a few spanish mackeral or trout surf fishing. also try a zara spook. lots of fun. caught a shark that ate my late fish too
