I was wondering If Herrington is a good winter fishing lake and what is the best species to go after. I've heard its a pretty good year around lake but would like to know more. Thanks in advance...

Apparently you've been talking to someone who fishes it a lot. It isn't an easy lake to learn by any means and it's not like any lake I've fished on before. Kinda feels like you're in the bottom of the Grand Canyon when you're on the lake. Lots of bluff walls and super deep water. But I've fished it a couple times in the early early spring. Shad raps seem to be fairly effective for bass. It's a very finesse type of lake.
We used to winter fish Herrington quite a bit in the past. We did well dragging jigs around the Hogsback and Gwinn Island area... Colors where basic Black/ Black, Brown/ Brown and Black/ Blue... Dan
Thanks for the input guys.... sounds like Herrington may be a tougher lake than I've been told!
If you actually catch anything let me know
