As soon as he started resisting he should have been hit with a stick. But with cameras police are afraid to react for fear of what might happen once it gets on the news.

I hope this video from the cnn web site works in here. This is why I would not want to be a police officer. I'm not sure if anyone was actually shot but there were shots fired in this video. It looks dangerous to me.
This is one incident. There is another incident today where some crazy guy in Michigan shoot a bunch of people at random. He is in jail now but 6 people were killed and others were wounded.
As soon as he started resisting he should have been hit with a stick. But with cameras police are afraid to react for fear of what might happen once it gets on the news.

They are there for a reason, to keep the police honest. Theres reasons why some cases involve protection from the law.
If I had cops around me like that, I would have been flat on my face with my hands as far away from my body as I could possibly get them. Why oh why can't bad guys(and innocent people) understand that?
Many police have to face thugs every day in their job duties. They never know if someone is going to comply peacefully with them or fight them. The fight of flight situation puts a lot of stress on officers.
They want to do their job and go back home to their families at night.
This suspect was very nervous and they should have had him on the ground on his face with a knee in his neck so that he could not have pulled out the gun. The one policeman with what appears to be a taser is out of position for a shot as his partner is in the way. He later called in "Shots Fired" on the police radio and seemed to be exhausted by the ordeal. The suspect's hands are not under control during this attempted arrest and he was able to fend the policeman off with his left hand and reach back behind his back to the 9 O'Clock Position and pull out his handgun and get a shot off. Luckily he missed the police and ran off. It's not shown in the video as they suspect and the policeman who pursued him ran out of frame. But I think that the suspect ended up getting shot and killed by the police.
This sort of reminds me of the case last sumer where the black kid reached into Officer Wilson's patrol car and went for officer Wilson's gun and fired a shot inside the police car. Then after running away the big kid came running back at Officer Wilson to attack him before being gunned down in the street. If you shoot at the police better be prepared to DIE. This is the same black kid who was over 6'8" tall and almost 300 lbs and who had previously that morning performed a strong armed robber of a store. He physically man handled the store clerk while stealing some cigars from the store. Funny I can't remember the name of the Black Kid right now.
I agree with you however that is a good way to get shot. A policeman has to react instantly his life depends on it.
The one policeman was breathing hard. He was a rather large man and seemed to be out of shape. He was the one that stayed behind and was holding what looked like a taser gun. The other policeman was the one who ran after the suspect in the film.
Police like firemen and military people need to stay in good shape in order to do their job better and to say safer.
Now I see why they pull out their guns and order suspects to lay face down on the ground with their hands stretched out to their sides. This makes it harder for the suspects to grab a gun or knife.
A knife at close range can be very dangerous as well as the gun. A man can run the 40 yard dash in under 6 seconds. Some can run it faster, some slower. But if a guy with a knife is charging at the police at full speed the police don't have a lot of time to defend themselves. They need to keep in shape and practice self defense moves and quick draw all the time and stay proficient at their shooting skills.
Pushing away from the donuts and hitting the guy might help save a life. As well as prevent some big fat guy from dropping dead from a heart attack.
I know all about reaction and life depending on it. I have been a cop for 18 years. I see how cops are afraid to take action because of what might happen on the news.
I'm all for the dash camera's, the dash cameras don't lie, and they show the truth on both sides. there are crooked, mean people in this world and always will be. some wear the police uniform and some don't, of all the videos i've watched in the last year, of cops killing people, I think this is the only one where the cops were justified in killing the man, after he lied to them about having a weapon and emptied out his pockets, then pulled a gun on them, their lives were in danger,in my opinion that cleared them of killing the guy.
I don't know what videos you have been watching but this is not the only one. What is weird where is the out rage about all the killings in Chicago or Detroit or DC?????? Do what you are told and no big deal. Don't break the law and no big deal.I'm all for the dash camera's, the dash cameras don't lie, and they show the truth on both sides. there are crooked, mean people in this world and always will be. some wear the police uniform and some don't, of all the videos i've watched in the last year, of cops killing people, I think this is the only one where the cops were justified in killing the man, after he lied to them about having a weapon and emptied out his pockets, then pulled a gun on them, their lives were in danger,in my opinion that cleared them of killing the guy.
Straight up Ryan, 1000's of black on black murders and no one says a thing. The minute a white cop shoots a criminal in the jungle and it's
front page news. I wish one of these key board cops would put thereselves in your place and see what its like responding to this crap every minute of your shift. Remember cops have family's to and there making millions protecting YOUR ass. Sarcasm Thank you Ryan...from the brother of a cop. Chuck
