Crappie fisherman were everywhere from the five fingers area up to and above bacon creek. Watched some guys catch some nice fish will drifting by. Might be a little more time before the fish get up further in the river. Out of curiosity i stopped by broadford and the water is so low and clear i could see my lure from the other side of the river. We need some rain but not a flood

If I had to guess I think the run is about over. I fished for walleye pass couple days. Mostly small whites. Ran back down to Dog creek to crappie fish yesterday afternoon and big schools of whites were shallow with the crappie. Btw I fished from bacon creek and down. Walleye's are on way back to lake. Had 8 total eyes.

Fished Broadford for several hours caught no whites and one largemouth then headed downriver to bacon creek and managed 5 whites in about 1.5 hr all males. This leads me to believe the run is just starting and should be better in a few weeks. Out of several people I spoke with only one person caught one white bass, crappie were slow on minnows.

Planning on driving up from Bowling Green on Friday and try our luck with the whites. Just curious, can you put in at Bacon Creek ramp or is the river to low? I've never been to that particular ramp, so just wanting to plan accordingly. Thanks.

Could get a lot of rain later this week so watch that. But what kind of boat do you have? River is pretty low at bacon creek.

River is pretty low. Cant imagine you cant get to much further past bacon creek unless you have a yak. Like The Man said might have more rain and thats subject to change.

I have a 16ft Jon with a 35hp. Didn't want to drive around the lake and put in at Wax. Is the ramp at Sportsman Paradise public or private. Was really just wanting to put in at Bacon and fish that stretch. Just trying to figure out how the locals get up that stretch. Anyway, thanks guys.

The ramp at sportsman is about 100yards out of water. Most people put in at wax and run up river. If you do that make sure you know the channel good.

Oh man, would have loved to seen the look on my old man's face when we pulled into the ramp and saw that!!! I'm 38 years old and I'm sure he'd still try and give me a good ole ass whoppin. Thanks for the info...like I said, we have a slip at Moodydeer and rarely venture up the lake that far. I'll proceed with caution.
