    Cedar Creek Lake @ Night

Thinking about heading out to Cedar Creek one night this week, figure I can beat the heat and the crowds this way....never really fished at night. Any suggestions for a summertime night bite at Cedar? Thanks...

I will be interested in hearing the Cedar guys answers. I wouldnt break my night fishing maiden fishing Cedar unless you know the lake extremely well. I get in some interesting predicaments with the stickups during the day.

Only way I fish it at night in the summer is tied up with a light out. That lake is hard enough to navigate in the daytime to get to fish that aren't pounded hourly. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes though. I may actually be headed over this weekend to chase some cats. Catalpa worms are falling!!!!!!!!

    Cool

Thanks guys for the advice. I know the lake pretty well, at least in daylight. The good thing for me is I will be in a kayak so the stumps, while I'm sure I'll run into a few, shouldn't do anything to me as long as I take it slow. I just assume I'll fish it like I do in the daytime and see what happens. I'm going to make sure I am well lit so any boaters can see me and go give it hell! I was just looking for some suggestions on baits and locations to use at night, we'll see if anyone wants to share

I've done well throwing a black jitterbug up there right at the edge of dark or on in the night some in the past. Can never go wrong with a black n blue jig n pig up there in my opinion, day or night!! I've also done well with a ten inch power worm in June bug.

I like a big motor oil worm (powerbait) in the trees. Last weekend our best 5 would have weighed about 18 pounds and the two best came from shaded banks in about two feet of water. Others were in ten feet. Good luck.
