    my choice

As long as it is legal, I can smoke. I choose friends who either partake or tolerate the habit. And I do recognize the risks involved. But most of life involves risks of some sort. A risk free life, would be boring, and some of the folks who advocate it are also boring to me.If we follow what society dictates, WHERE IS YOUR FREEDOM OF CHOICE. I make exceptions for non smokers when I'm on their turf, but when they are mine, they should not object to my habits. Neither of my chilren smoke, when I visit them,I go outside, or to a place that they provide for me. When my son and I go to the casino strips, we use differnt rooms, at MY insistance.. If tobacco is so bad, why do we let farmers grow it?

    True, but

As long as smoking doesn't affect any one else's health except the smokers I have no problem with at all. I do not want to see smoking banned all together but I do believe that when I go into a public building for whatever reason I should not have to breath smoke filled air, to me that imposes on my freedoms. The exception being casinos, bars and smoke shops because there is no reason why I would have to go in any of those if I don't want too. I once read an article that stated smokers actually save the government money because their life expectancy is shorter and they are in the social security/Medicare system for a shorter amount of time. It went on to explain how that savings more than offsets the above average healthcare cost that they have on the system but that point may be moot because I know a guy that smoked unfiltered Pall Malls for 50 years and believe or not he is still alive. Lol.

    65 years of puffing

it's the genes. I had a friend who had part of a lung removed, he never smoked. My aunt was 96 when she quit, because her warden at the nursing home said it was bad for her.I'm not going to live forever, my death will be bladder involved. But what ever it will be, I'm not afraid, had a great life.
