Barren River Lake Fishing Report
July 15, 2016
Barren River Lake Water Level Falling
After cresting at 559.06 ft. earlier this week, the water level in the lake continues to fall and was at 558.5 ft., as of 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14. However, the lake level remains above the summer pool of 552 ft. The flooding has caused the closure of the Barren River Lake State Park beach (Sunset Cove) and the Quarry Road Recreation Area. The high water has also forced several boat ramp restrictions.
The high water has brought a lot of drift into the lake and made fishing difficult, as well.

It has been a busy week at work and I have been unable to get on Barren River Lake. Here is a general report .
The fishing has been more than tough, even the bluegill are hard to find.
The high water and lake being full of drift has made it hard.
The fish should have come up shallow, but from what I hear they have not.
When the Corps starts pulling the lake hard, it should help the bite as the fish should get near channel swings.

Thanks Tacklebag23 for the posting information. I live in Versailles and my wife has a family reunion at Barren River lake state park tomorrow. I think I will stay home and go back to Cedar Creek tomorrow where I went today (caught only one 17" bass today)
Thanks again for the info!!!!
