Would a separate political section benefit site?

Am I alone in thinking separating political threads form the rest of the off topics would improve the site.

Political threads basically overtake the entire section to where I bet it curtails most other "off topics". There are countless threads, many with little to no discussion just people linking things of their liking. I doubt anyone's minds are ever changed but the threads to push any other discussions off the first few pages to where I bet many members don't even visit this section as much.

Setting up a separate section for political threads wouldn't limit anyone's ability to post but allow for other topics to remain in view longer and possibly flourish.

What say you?

I too apologize for posting to much about the current political events. If everyone will refrain from attacking the candidates then I will do. There are many other forums that are for politics.

Let's get back to talking about fishing which is what this site is all about.
