    Fished Sunday 10/17

Could not catch bait. It would not come up above 70 or 80' under light down by dam. It was a full moon though. Caught alewives full moon when they came up to 60' last full moon. I was hoping it didn't affect them down that deep. Maybe my net was closed by the time it got to 80'. Who knows.

Fished south side between Indian and dam and up by lo gap with some really nice shinners. Caught some cats and some baits torn in half. Pretty sure I was over some active stripers quite a bit but they would come up and go back down or do nothing. I think had I had alewives there would been been some fish in the boat!

Saw no jumps dark to 10:00 am est.

    Thursday 10/13, fri 10/14 ans sat 10/15

Sorry for the late post. My phone didn't want to work well on the water. Meant to post when i got back but you know life got busy anyway....we limited out everyday all in the jumps.

Thursday was the best as we saw jumps morning and night. Really think rain, overcast and lack of boats helped. There is a group of us and most are still there ...so we caught our fish on thurs and saw jumps from the mouth of wolfe to the wall by govenors (past cut through and island).

Friday was painful but got into them late accross the main lake from beaver.

Sat was more painful with the addition of boats, jet skis and tubers but again late we found them between the mouth of wolf snd the cut through.

Honestly i think they are everywhere but a lot of patience, standing up with consistent looking.....hard on neck and back. They were a little harder this year as they werent splash jumping if you will. They were rolling with limited splashing.

Great times and thanks again for everyones help.

    BSG2121,
Great post and thanks for sharing. Thursday morning was good for us too, but we never really did see much Thursday night around Wolf. We should have been more mobile, but I just sat. Glad you got into them.

I had to have a green light 60 ft down and had to drop the net 80 ft to get good bait. Fished Friday through yesterday (10-18) and limited each day but Monday. Monday my trolling motor died so I had to borrow one for Tuesday. Fished the north shore flats in 50-70 ft of water with fish coming 45 to 50 ft down until Tuesday. Yesterday I moved out to the outside creek channel in front of Indian. Missed three while catching two. Had one on that pulled 50' of line out before it got off (was fighting another biggun at the time). Landed one that was 42". I had one on from a 35 ft line yesterday. Fished less than 30 minutes in the early mornings most days.

No jumps but I'll only fish those if I happen on them.

    Peter,
Drop a shiner (or better yet a spoon) down through the packs and reel up pretty quick if you are over them and they are not hitting the shiners. You get one going and you will probably get others.

Thanks for the tips Duane. Between now and next year I'll work on a 60' extension cord for my light.

Thanks for all of the info guys! I fished all of last week and no stripers or smallies on jumps due to the water temps. Had a real nice smallmouth blow up on a spook and he missed it. Other than that a lot of bait was up in the back of Indian. Sounds like they're just now starting to get on top. Good luck to everyone!

    Striper stop

Well I guess the Stripers read the post and moved. I saw nothing in mouth of Wolfe or Lilly to night and only one small group up a couple seconds at Low Gap. I guess it was cold front approaching that quieted them . Or maybe they read my post, felt stupid for hitting my lures, and were staging a closed lip strike on me .

BTW re bait. Lake Point Motel will deliver shiners to Ally 2 if you call in advance. Jamestown and Basspro shiners not Striper size. State dock is out of bait till Thursday.

State dock store open daily till 430 pm and great coffee, microwave available, and lots of nuc-able chow

Gee, i wonder why they moved....hmmm could it be the numerous fleets of boats idling around in that area? I was bass fishing close by and just shook my head everytime a boat motor would start 2 or 3 other bosts would make a mad dash for the drivers seat.
Bob, you got just what you asked for, dont blame it on the stripers.

Oh yeah forgot to memtion, the reason i was bass fishing at prime jump time was because we put 6 in the cooler in 10 minutes at an undisclosed location......so, yeah, they jumped great yesterday evening, and not a boat in sight. Good luck and have fun😋
