I don't watch much football, what i watch is commercials between plays. Instead I'll opt for recaps of thje high lights.Besides watchng the bears is not football.I'm blessed with watching the titans most sundays, and am happy when they get their butts kicked.
I don’t intend to watch the NCAA men’s basketball tournament this year because of the NCAA's decision to punish The State of North Carolina for its policy on LGBT bathrooms. Same thing with the NBA All Star game and it's related events.

It's being said that nfl football isn't drawing the viewers it used to. they wonder why, I'll give my humble opinion.Last year I watched apackers game.kick off, followed by commercial. first play from scrimage, injury time out, more commercials, 3 plays later punt, more commercials.3 minuted of actul football, 5 minutes of commercials.and this goes on and on, I switch to the other channel. commercial, go back, time out, need i say more. I seldom watch commercial TV, the news at 5:30 pm, and then I swich to either net flix, or amazon prime. I even watch the expensive hulu option. When all that fails, books. Last night [or this morning] I readtill almost 0300. Much of my time is spent playing games on POGO, which I pay for. Go to any news outlet on the computer, and there they are pop up commercials. Were even getting them on this site.
I got directed to the Indianapolis Star News paper online edition yesterday for some reason. I thought the Evansville Courier and Press online edition had a lot of commercials and pop up's. Man I had to watch three commercials before I could read the article that I wanted to read. That S*********************** too.
The internet has more and more commercials every day. One day you will have to read three pages of commercials for ever paragraph of text that you want to read.
Yea TV is bad. We pay over 100 dollars a month to get cable TV and internet and have the time I'm watching a dam commercial instead of the program I want to watch.
Do the owners really believe that we will buy stuff simply because a commercial of theirs annoyed us and kept us from watching the program we really wanted to see. That won't work on me. If I see a commercial pop up on the screen which keeps me from seeing what I want to see I take notes. My notes tell me to avoid that business at all costs. So the commercial is not attracting me to their business, it's repelling me from their business.
One of the major car dealers in Evansville runs so many commercials that are so corny that I would never do any business with them. What I do is go there and act like I'm going to buy a car and make the guy in the commercials wait on my for as long as possible before I tell them that I'm going over to Henderson, KY and Owensboro, KY to look at their cars. This dealership stole the "What's in your Wallet' saying from one of the credit card companies and uses the "What's in your driveway" saying in all their commercials. That saying insults people more than entices them to buy their cars. But they are too arrogant to figure that out.

I think one of the bigger reasons NFL ratings are down is The Kaepernick Effect. You have a black guy playing in a professional sport that is dominated by black players (67%) and he just signed a 6 yr. contract worth $114,000,000 and he is protesting in the name of racial equality against the country that made all that possible for him? I call bs on that. I'm going to speculate that there are other folks out there just like me that are now making a special effort to watch the National Anthem being played before a game and if I see just one player kneeling or sitting during the Anthem then I change the channel and refuse to watch any part of that game. On a side note, one thing that has happened because of The Kaepernick Effect is that Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger are no longer the most hated players in the NFL. You are right about the blacks being the majority in pro sports other than Ice Hockey. Hey maybe that is why I like Ice Hockey better than football?
Anyway they make all this money and then disrespect the country. If I were the owner of that team I'd fire him and hire some else that's willing to love our country as well as make the big bucks. Send that demonstrator back to the streets and keep him out of pro football until he gets a hair cut and learns some manners.

Yup, I agree with everything you said except the hockey part. Of course I'm from Alabama and most of us Alabamians are all about fishing, football and racing. Not much ice there to play hockey on. I think there is a hockey team in Huntsville but like LA (lower Alabama) most of those folks are not from Alabama. I think most of them are from Ohio or Michigan.
