Anyone know of any decent places around Frankfort or not far from Frankfort where a man could go to catch some sauger or hybrids? Just curious. I'm kinda new to Frankfort still and was wondering. I know there's a dam and lock behind Jims seafood but you can't really get right in the current to get to where you need to be because of the lock. Anyone have any good tips on where to go to catch some sauger without having to drive from Frankfort to Louisville and across the bridge to get to the falls? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! I know being in Frankfort with the ky river running right thru it there has to be some decent fishing! I just need to be pointed in that right direction. Thanks y'all and merry Christmas!

You should be able to access the current behind jims seafood. The lock is on the otherside of the river i believe. Only problem is that i dont think they let people fish down there anymore. Couldnt hurt to ask because i know theres fish to be had down there. Dont know how good any bank access is at the other locks either. Wish i could help. There might be another thread with info if you try the search bar

They do not allow anyone to go back there on foot anymore unfortunately. Only access is by boat and it's a really good fishing spot. Sauger and walleye come up early spring and also alot of good catfish and crappie fishing there too. Caught this guy a few weeks ago

Well hell. I've fished down there behind the humane society and walked up to the gates of the lock but you can't get get close enough to the current cause of the gates of the lock. Reckon that makes bank fishin pretty difficult

Yea you can fish that side from the bank but keep in mind that is actually the shallow side of the river. Fishing is way better on the other side in my experience
