There is a knot I have been using the last several years and do not recall a break off. Go onto YouTube and search, "Shaw Grigsby Knot". It starts like a Palomar knot but you loop the line 3 times around your finger instead of passing the lure through the loop. It make a nice fat knot like a snell on the top. I think the extra cushion of this knot helps with the shock on hook sets.
