Did you see any fish near the bottom on your electronics? With the new DI sonars and frequency modulation sonar CHIRPS it's easier to pick fish out from the bottom as the resolution is better than 6" with CHIRP sonar.

What I myself would do would be to cruise around some deep water spots with brush and see if there are any schools of fish or bait fish hanging around those brush piles in the deep water. Take some jigs and fish the deep brush piles and see if you can't locate some crappie.

A faster way is to hire a guide that fishes that lake all year round and see what they have to say. They are on the water all the time and should be able to put you on some crappie.
