    Cumberland crappie

Last few yrs my dad has been catching some nice crappie at Cumberland. More quality not quantity. Anyway he is trying to figure them out at LC. He is used to KY lake so LC is much different. He has been focusing on stick ups and lay downs using minows and jigs. He hasnt had any luck this yr yet but the water temp has been a little cold. Thinking they should turn on here soon. I think i am going to try and go with him next week. Hoping to start a conversation here and see if we could share some tips and maybe improve the production. He has a few spots he likes close to jamestown. I really like the back of wolfe but it is a ride. If anyone has any tips or suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thx BG

With the water being up as much as it has I never did figure out the early bite. I usually start catching some nice ones about he end of February on those sunny days. Most of my fishing is done way up in fishing creek. We found fish but never could hone in on a consistent bite. Just one here and there. I bounce back and forth between striper fishing and crappie fishing and the water/weather has had the fish all kind of inconsistent.

I haven't been in a few weeks. Had a fishing trip up north and made it back in time for turkey opener so that has had me busy. We have done fair this year so far. I'm no guide or pro though so putting a few keepers in the boat is a great day.

Dad did catch 3 nice crappie last weekend. 14 inch range. He also caught a whole bunch of largemouth. He was using minnows in stickups and lay downs about 5 ft deep. Mid creek area. Hoping they are moving in now and hoping for better results this weekend. Water temp was 62-64 ish. Anyway if anyone has any crappie info please share. Thx.
