I'm gonna go in blind and give em a shot Sunday for the first time ever. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting. Only advice I have gotten thus far is look for gravel piles or rock piles and try to sink the bait past the bluegill to get the redears.

I have fished there for them, years ago. I used a 1/16oz black jig head with the brown head portion of a nightcrawler threaded on the hook .... slowly drifted just off the bottom. A couple of other times, when fishing from the bank, I used a section of nightcrawler under a float. Both instances I was fishing around the ramp by the dam.
One thing I did notice was that the Redear never really "thumped" the bait (like a Bluegill does), but rather simply swam off with it. That happened with both the crawler/float and the jig/crawler setups.
