Several years ago we cleaned out a pond and I restocked copper nose bluegill. I was told they would grow quicker and bigger.
This year and last year I was catching 8.5 and 9" males. Females were mostly 7".
The problem I see is the fillets on the males. I am used to seeing a big chunk of meat over the rib cage. These male fish have practically no meat at all. Smaller females have more meat than males over the rib cage.

Has anyone else noticed this?
