One may say it is the power of the Internet, especially social media, as it is used to recruit, to spread untruths, and to push radical ideologies. The people who use the Internet hide behind keyboards and avoid international law. Others may say the main threat to America is foreign terrorism. Certainly there are terrorist cells all over the world that want to destroy our nation. However, we have our own homegrown terrorists right here among us, including anti-government groups, socialist movements, white supremacist and radical gangs in all parts of this country. The censorship of social media (Twitter, Facebook), blocking views and facts other than their own, is a major threat to our democracy. Then there is illegal immigration, which can threaten our daily life in ways we have not yet fully realized. Illegal immigration brings illegal drugs, sex and human traffickers and takes American jobs. Illegal immigration affects our health and educational systems, increasing our insurance rates and using our tax dollars. Illegal immigration has also been implicated in election interference.

Now lets look at the “real threat.” Make no mistake about it; there are four hostile powers in the world that want to destroy this nation in the worst way. These are China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. These countries either have or are trying desperately to obtain weapons of mass destruction. All of these countries have cyber criminals and hackers constantly playing the game of cyberspace warfare and are becoming more sophisticated every day. They are using the Internet in ever increasing destructive ways; just look what they did in our last election. They are using remote institutions, malware and other advanced cyber techniques to access networks and information. Just this week Russian hackers threaten our hospital systems.

I am sure the leaders of these nations, as well as our other enemies, must be laughing and dancing in the streets to see how they have interfered in our democracy and to see our nation in such turmoil. China and Russia have been flooding our country with tons of illegal drugs for decades by way of Mexico. These drugs are destroying the very fabric of this nation. The cost of the drug trade in this country in relation to our economy, health care and our personal lives is beyond imagination. When illegals enter, the cost to house, educate and provide health care for these illegals is astronomical. It is just another way to deplete our nation’s wealth. Last, but not least, the very nature of our democracy may be its own worst enemy. Yes, radical ideologies can threaten the very Constitution of the United States by the popular vote.
Gonna have to disagree with you on this post. Yeah I know, even President Trump says we live in a democracy. This country isn’t a democracy, wasn’t founded to be a democracy, and never intended to be a democracy! PERIOD!

IT PAINS ME WHEN I HEAR PEOPLE CLAIM IT. You just took a giant dump on your original post in thread by labeling this country a democracy. This country, the greatest country in the world is a Constitutional Republic governed by Law, not by majority like failed democracy system.

No stripper nut or acorn/moveon/antifa I don’t have a link that will help the two of you.

Why would I need a link to Fox news or anything connected to Rupert Murdock? That would be a waste of your time and mine.

Actually, Bonefish hit on some good points about immigration and terrorism. China and Russia worry me the most. But health care is my number one priority due to my age and health and this stupid virus. I wished that Trump had forced some American companies to manufacture N95 masks and have enough for everyone to wear all the time. Instead, we are dependant on China to get N95 masks. How stupid is that? China is our enemy and the virus came from China. Hell China may have even created this virus in the Virus Lab in Wuhan, China. Trump and the GOP have been fighting against public health care for the last 50 years. Obama finally got the affordable health care act passed and now the GOP and Trump are desperate to get rid of the AHCA. That I am against. We need the AHCA more now than ever. And for that reason alone I'm not voting for Trump. I'm voting for Biden/Harris.

Now I do like Trump's stand on the 2nd amendment. But I don't think that people should be carrying AR15 inside the Michigan State House. There are places where guns should be allowed and then there are places where they should not be around. Inside Government buildings no way.

And Trump keeps encouraging domestic terrorist or road rage. The Biden Bus incident in TX is a prime example. That ane the comment that Trump made about the poor boys. Stand back and Stand By. Like he intends to call them to action if he loses? That should be enough for anyone to not vote for Trump. In fact, that to me would be enough to arrest him for promoting terrorism if he loses this election. There are many other reasons to vote Trump out of office. Too many to list here. The number of lies Trump tells every day is hard to keep track of. Trump is a con man and liar. in fact Trump is a pathological liar.

He said democracy, but he meant Constitutional Republic, as he also pointed out the constitution can be radically changed by the popular vote, which is a BAD IDEA.

The Constitution has rules on changing it.

There are rules written into the US Constitution that spell out how to change the US Constitution. And you need popular support to get changes to pass in all the states and in Congress.

I understand that..........and you definitely need popular support.........you know the ERA amendment was proposed nearly 100 years ago, and it has not been ratified.

I don't believe a constitutional amendment will EVER happen again. The only possibility I see is a convention of states, and I don't see that happening either.

They can't change the US Constitution on a whim. You need vast amounts of support all around the country. So it has to be an idea that is widely supported by the vast majority of the people.

I don't see any more changes coming in my lifetime but I'm an old guy and don't have much longer to live anyway. So I think you are right on this one Geo.
