Elwood Lumpkins
(Elnut Birdwood)
Before daylight
Across Dale’s dark water
In his “Deep-V” he would fly
With a determined look in his eye
He was a F-n-F certifiable nut
But how he thinks is not clear-cut
He would fish those low light, overcast days
When BP drops and hard to see through the haze
Its when baitfish become disoriented and confused
And those big brownfish become amused
Keep fishing up there my friend
You always said to cut close your tag-end
Enjoy these cold winter days
You always said laughter pays
Bonefish
