But I couldn't vote for Trump either because I believed him utterly unfit for the presidency. In every possible way, but particularly in character. I believed that if we abandoned the standards we've always held for our vote--a MINIMUM amount of decency, honesty, integrity--it would come back to burn our butts. And I've been proven right. The normalization of demonizing your political opponents, abandonment of character principles, lies about a "stolen election," all these things have done great damage to the country I love that we are going to have a hard time recovering from.
I'll applaud Biden when he's right and criticize him when I think he's wrong, like he was with the absurd transgender accommodation that is going to devastate women's sports. What I won't do is assume that, if someone criticizes Trump, they must be pro-Biden, or vice-versa. All that way of thinking does is make you a mark for a con, easily manipulated.
Believe it or not, that sort of stance towards politics and politicians is possible, even today.
