The CDC really screwed up. They meant well but they still screwed up. People are not honest and that is the problem with the CDC statements. Now if everyone were truthful and would get vaccinated then we could all do away with mask. But people don't always tell the truth and you will have people that didn't get vaccinated thinking that they can remove their masks. It's all in the details. And how can you tell who is fully vaccinated and who it not? Therefore, you can't allow everyone to remove masks at this time. We need more people fully vaccinated and then we may be able to reduce the mask wearing more.

I'm not sure where people got the idea that we ALL could remove our masks! We hear what we want to? But I heard that fully vaccinated people would remove their masks only if they were around others that were also fully vaccinated. Remember that the vaccines are only about 95% effective. We have some 100,000 break-through infections. Infections that occurred in people that were fully vaccinated. And I've also read that people who are fully vaccinated and have underlying diseases that can suppress the immune system still need to wear mask and practice social distancing. People that are on immunosuppressant drugs are in the same category and still need to wear masks. And then there are the mutations in India, South Africa and Britian that may be constantly mutating if the virus stays around in people. We are not sure how long the vaccines will last as we have not had time to get the data.

There is a lot of details that need to be figured out. And we can't simplify this that easily.
