yea, that's what we need...get the government involved...NOT!!!While the news is pointing the finger at the govt for NOT addressing the supply chain issues earlier, who is asking the tough questions to the Port Operators for failing to manage their own operations and know an issue was rising?
Seems early on more ships could have been rerouted. While it’s a long way to the east coast, increasing transit cost, and increasing product cost on the shelf, the maker has a greater business loss if none of his product gets to shelf even if avoiding increased transit cost.
In my supply chain experience, at first indication of a bottle neck, you identify route causes and implement alternatives. Better to increase transit cost and bring product to sale, then drive shortages, reducing sales.
What ya think? Let’s not blame the govt for individual business failings.
