I'm up had my coffee, and am ready to hit the lake.
5:19am CST..........still dark, but headed to the water.
Wish me luck............I don't have any FNF stuff rigged, so I will be jiggin this morning, but I will be bringing the fly stuff back to the room and getting it ready.
Water temps last night in Hendricks when I put the boat in was 58 degrees........
Nice.
I thought I had a pretty good deal with being retired and fishing. But you have taken it up a notch. Good luck and keep us updated

I'm not retired......yet.. BUT I'm very fortunate to be in an industry where I can work from anywhere, and I work for a company that UNDERSTANDS, that if I get my job done, who cares if I go out and fish 3 hours in the morning........EVERY morning.

A buddy of mine ordered a 60k boat in January.........Got it in June. Fished a couple months, and it is back at the factory.
Lots of **** being built right now...........I don't know I'd own a new one, IMHO.
It is an awesome boat though, just a lot of nickel and dime stuff that you should NEVER have to fix on a 60k anything.

Good start!! Looking forward to your posts Geo!! Best of luck!!!

Day 4.........
I did not fish Monday and Tuesday due to work. But I did get out today, and I'm glad I DID.
I caught 4, and had 2 other pulldowns . 3 were caught on the fly, and 1 was caught on a silver buddy.
The silver buddy fish was a solid 22 incher 4.8lb DONKEY.
Ah, life is GOOD.

I'm back in the room now, but I started the morning very early. I ran 10 miles and then spent the next 2 hours trying to buy a fish. Finally, around 8am, I came onto a cut bank area where it bluffed out into a flat . BOOM. Fly bite on.
I caught 3 on back to back to back casts, and then while taking a pic of the 3rd fish, the fly I dangled over the side of the boat got bit, and I **** near lost my favorite float any fly rod.
Ah..............the bite was on.
Then as the front pushed in, it got ugly. Caught two more, but the ran and wind pushed me off the lake.
On the way back to Hendricks Creek, I stopped at a favorite spot, and caught 3 in an hour or so on a Jig. Not bad.
Ended up with 5 on the fly and 3 on the jig.
Not a bad day.
