How is the fishing
Hit and miss really, but I've caught a ton of different species out of it. I love it because you never know what you've hooked into. I've seen a Muskie surface once in that stretch, although I had run way up in the river toward the Kenton/Campbell Co. line when I saw it but they are there.
Ton's of flathead catfish if that's your jam.
My only feedback is with the narrow/steep banks it's not fun to fish when it's up much. It gets some ridiculous drift running through it and a heck of a current. I fish the Ohio quite a bit while it's up, but don't mess with the Licking anymore.
Thanks for info
I live right on the Licking river. About 3 miles north of Ryland heights In Campbell county, Rifle Range road. I can catch largemouth, smallmouth, Ky’s, sauger, cats and white bass. If the shad are there you can catch em. Best areas are above and below riffles. You can get a boat up past Visalia bridge about a mile. I don’t recommend locust pike ramp, too many thieves and it is very shallow to put in there. Spring and fall are best. You can catch a few crappie here and there too, not much size.
Bassky
Dam shame a person cant enjoy the day without worrying about some scum bags stealing your things
