How are these lakes in the winter? Are they dangerous?

It’s either this, or taking the kayak to some smaller lakes.

Any advice, tips, or just general knowledge is very helpful.
at 470 you can fish from the bridge at north fork to cannons point in south fork safely. Any past either end be very careful. Good crappie and bass fishing and stripers every once in a while. Right now its over summer pool and its a possibility it might not make it back to winter pool. AT 475 and above u can go alot further in north fork and south fork. I like it around 475 to 480 I usually catch more at that level. Crankbaits and jigs for bass and stripers and tube jigs under a float for crappie do best for me. Good luck be safe catch alot of fish. Keep what you need throw the rest back for another day
